Vinodh and his team moved to Borneo in early 2007 to produce, manage and operate interactive wildlife presentations for the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park in Kota Kinabalu. The park is managed by Dr. Sen Nathan of the Sabah Wildlife Department.
A range of new interactive presentations were planned for implementation over a 3 year period. These include the Wild Borneo - Wildlife Show, featuring, Orangutans, Eagles, Brahminy Kites, Wreathed Hornbills, Crested Hornbills, Binturongs and more. These interactive full scale shows are staged at the park’s wildlife theatre.
In addition, smaller scaled ‘shows’ have been introduced at the wildlife exhibits. These ‘Jungle Journeys’ although, informal in presentation style, feature Tigers, Orangs, Sun Bear and Elephants displaying a range of natural behaviours within their habitats.
In Jan 2009, WCI will launch The Special World of Reptiles Show whilst, Wings, our free flight bird/raptor show is scheduled for March 2009.
The new year will also see the launch of our Free Ranging Orangutan display.
Shamima Rafi manages WCI’s programs & team of trainers and presenters in Sabah, whilst Revi Nair is busy training the park’s orangs to be free. Vinodh visits occasionally to enjoy the show.
